Early life

Anand Mahindra was born on 1 May 1955 in a famous and accomplished business family in Mumbai, Maharashtra. His father's name was Harish Mahindra and mother's name was Indira Mahindra. In the year 1977, he received a graduate education from the Harvard College of America (Cambridge, Massachusetts), from the Department of Visual and Environmental Studies. In the year 1981, he received postgraduate (MBA) education in 'Business Administration' from 'Harvard Business School' (HBS), Boston, Massachusetts. Later, he was married to Anuradha Mahindra, with whom he has two daughters. Anuradha is the editor of the famous magazine 'Varo' and 'Men's World' and the Editor-in-Chief of 'Rolling Stone India'.

After receiving an MBA education, Anand Mahindra returned to India in the year 1981 and assumed his first assignment as Executive Assistant of Finance Director in Mahindra Eugene Steel Company (MUSCO) here.
